Drummin Posted February 3, 2013 at 09:44 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 at 09:44 PM Can a motion that is brought before a Special or extraordinary general Meeting (EGM) be amended, in the same way that a motion at Auunal General meeting could be amended (ie. by a propsoer / seconder).Or must the assembly vote on the original motion only. George Mervosh Posted February 3, 2013 at 09:47 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 at 09:47 PM Main motions properly made during a special meeting may be amended just as freely as if it was made at any other meeting, yes. If this is a bylaw amendment, there are possible restrictions to what amendments would be in order, but that's the same in any other meeting as well. The fact the motion is made at a special meeting imposes no restrictions in and of itself as to what amendments would be in order. jstackpo Posted February 3, 2013 at 09:47 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2013 at 09:47 PM The Main ("original") motion can be amended, presuming (as ever) that the amendment is germane.
