George Mervosh Posted December 17, 2013 at 07:33 PM Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 at 07:33 PM If you have 2 members running for a position and you think neither one is a good choice. Can you vote no for both and how would that work. The yes/no option is not proper for an election. The ballot can either be blank, or you can list each candidate's name with a place for an "X", and have a line for a write-in. When this is done you can either place an X next to the candidate you prefer or write-in another name, or leave your ballot blank if you truly have no preference. If the ballot has not been designed as wisely as Mr. Mervosh has advised, then you can scribble your write-in vote in whatever empty space is available. Rev Ed Posted December 17, 2013 at 09:53 PM Report Share Posted December 17, 2013 at 09:53 PM The ballot should have one of two options: 1) As Mr. Mervosh has stated would have the names of those who have been nominated with a blank line to fill in for a write-in vote. This ballot works when nominations must be made in advance. 2) In most organization where nominations may take place right before the election, the ballot should come with a blank like to write in the name of the person you are voting for. If you do not like either candidate you can write in any name you like (including yourself.) Other then returning a blank ballot, this is your only option.
