Guest Angie Posted July 14, 2014 at 05:01 PM Report Share Posted July 14, 2014 at 05:01 PM I recently participated in a meeting in which a draft agenda was provided by the Chair. However the members were not allowed to modify or adopt the agenda. The parliamentarian contended that RRoO allows this. Can you point me to where in RRoO this is allowed and, perhaps, summarize the relevant information? In many years of RRoO meetings I have never seen this. Thank you. Guest Angie Posted July 14, 2014 at 06:11 PM Report Share Posted July 14, 2014 at 06:11 PM Thank you. Is there ever a time when the Agenda does not have to be adopted or the membership cannot add/remove items from it?
Rev Ed Posted July 14, 2014 at 06:51 PM Report Share Posted July 14, 2014 at 06:51 PM Only if the By-laws (or applicable statute) do not specifically allow it. Or if it is a special meeting, which is for specific issues only.
Edgar Guest Posted July 14, 2014 at 09:20 PM Report Share Posted July 14, 2014 at 09:20 PM Is there ever a time when the Agenda does not have to be adopted . . . ?Many meetings do just fine without an agenda at all (i.e. following the Standard Order of Business).
