Edgar Guest Posted March 27, 2015 at 11:18 PM Report Share Posted March 27, 2015 at 11:18 PM What title do I use? Am I Worthy Matron, Elect? If you're not yet the Worthy Matron, why are you sending out invitations? Wouldn't that be up to the current Worthy Matron?
g40 Posted March 28, 2015 at 08:26 PM Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 at 08:26 PM However, since (according to RONR) one assumes an office upon election the "title" would be effective immediately - and not be affected by the organization's installation ceremony. Wouldn't that be up to the current Worthy Matron?Well, the bride to be sends out wedding invitations even though she isn't yet married. A newly elected public official sends out invitations to his inauguration, even though he isn't yet a public official. And here in New Orleans, the King and Queen to be (and sometimes maids, dukes and dutchesses) send out very fancy invitations to their very elaborate coronation and other balls even though they are not yet reigning royalty.
