When is a member no longer a member?

Our constitution states that "NETs employed... in the scheme... shall be eligible to be members of..." We have had a HKD$200 membership fee for two-year membership for eligible persons, but there is nothing in our constitution about if a person's membership expires when they are no longer "employed in the scheme" (i.e. leave early).

Can a person still be a member of an association even if they no longer meet the original requirements when they were eligible and joined that association (and paid a fee)? If so, are they eligible to vote?

Are they called ex officio?

Generally speaking, the eligibility requirements to become a member are the same as the eligibility requirements to remain a member but the bylaws (i.e. your bylaws) could certainly provide for something different (e.g. a one-time entry fee).

As for voting, members can vote; non-members can't.

The term "ex-officio" is not applicable in this situation (see FAQ #2).
