Mark Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:06 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:06 PM Quick question. We are looking to raise our dues by 20% can a member move to increase that percentage to 25% or some other amount. Or does that exceed the scope of notification. And were can I find that in RR
Hieu H. Huynh Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:17 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:17 PM Increasing to 25% would exceed the scope of notice if an increase of 20% was given. It would not be exceeded for any amount of increase up to 20%. Is this a bylaws amendment?

Hieu H. Huynh Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:28 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:28 PM See "Amending a Proposed Amendment to the Bylaws" in RONR 11th ed., pp. 594-596.
Mark Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:40 PM Author Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 at 03:40 PM Just a follow up question. We are proposing 4 bylaw changes (4 different articles) all are related to membership fees. Is there a way to have it voted on as a whole? We don't want some fees increased and not others as this is part of a larger capital improvement project
Hieu H. Huynh Posted October 26, 2016 at 04:12 PM Report Share Posted October 26, 2016 at 04:12 PM I think it depends on the details. A possibility could be an amendment proposed as a substitute which includes the articles involved.

Although "We" may not want some fees and not others raised, "They" might want exactly that.
