Guest Ken Posted November 16, 2016 at 06:31 PM Report Share Posted November 16, 2016 at 06:31 PM I was unable to attend an Association Board meeting this past Monday 11/14 due to illness and requested the Vice President to preside over the meeting. At that meeting a motion was made, properly seconded and passed unanimously. The individual making the original motion now wishes to amend that motion to revise it and now have a vote called on the amended revised motion. What is the proper procedure to handle such a situation?

Agreeing with Mr. Huynh's answer, the original maker has absolutely nothing to do with this situation except for the fact he wants to move to amend it now. Any member may move to amend something previously adopted. Edited November 16, 2016 at 06:43 PM by George Mervosh
Gary Novosielski Posted November 17, 2016 at 03:06 AM Report Share Posted November 17, 2016 at 03:06 AM See §35. The motion requires (a) a two-thirds vote, (b) a majority vote when notice of intent to make the motion, stating the complete substance of the proposed change, has been given at the previous meeting within a quarterly time interval or in the call of the present meeting, or (c) a vote of a majority of the entire membership—any one of which will suffice.
