Joibren Posted January 20, 2017 at 03:27 PM Report Share Posted January 20, 2017 at 03:27 PM Can the Chair nominate himself? Either in the capacity of the chair or by recusing as chair to nominate himself.

Hieu H. Huynh Posted January 20, 2017 at 05:07 PM Report Share Posted January 20, 2017 at 05:07 PM Whether it is appropriate for the chair to make nominations depends on the situation. What are the nominations for?
jstackpo Posted January 20, 2017 at 05:49 PM Report Share Posted January 20, 2017 at 05:49 PM In less fractious times, "self-nominating" used to be called "volunteering" -- sounds much nicer.
Kim Goldsworthy Posted January 20, 2017 at 11:27 PM Report Share Posted January 20, 2017 at 11:27 PM Henry M. Robert, the original author, called self-nomination "indelicate." But Henry M. Robert did not say that self-nomination was "out of order". *** A member has rights. One of the rights is "to nominate". Your chair is a member (I assume). You chair therefore has the right to nominate.
