Guest MRMorrell Posted March 1, 2018 at 04:47 AM Report Share Posted March 1, 2018 at 04:47 AM “As to the C&BL’s allowing an email vote it does not address voting by email so therefore it is allowed because it doesn’t prohibit an email vote.” This was a comment by an officer on the Board. To clarify if the ByLaws do not address email voting at all, can a vote of the Board be taken by email?
Benjamin Geiger Posted March 1, 2018 at 05:10 AM Report Share Posted March 1, 2018 at 05:10 AM If the Constitution and Bylaws don't explicitly permit electronic voting (and specify RONR as their parliamentary authority), all votes must be taken in person during a meeting. To clarify if the ByLaws do not address email voting at all, can a vote of the Board be taken by email? This officer is completely wrong. If RONR is your parliamentary authority, e-mail and any other form of absentee voting is prohibited, unless it is authorized in your bylaws. Since yours does not address this, your organization prohibits e-mail voting.
