Entertain motion that would contradict vote?

A motion was made, seconded, and passed by vote.  Can someone submit a new motion afterward that would contradict the just-taken vote?

More facts would be helpful.  Explain what you mean by contradict.

Most likely not, unless it's a motion to rescind or amend the previously adopted motion, or a motion to reconsider the passed motion, which has a number of restrictions on it (see p. 315ff in RONR). But more facts would be helpful.

In general, no.  They could move to Rescind the motion just passed, but that would have a higher threshold than the original and seems unlikely to succeed unless sentiments had changed substantially in the last five minutes.

But it's not in order to make a motion that conflicts with a motion already passed and still in effect.  Exceptions may apply.
