An entity is trying to appeal a bylaw in one of our association.  Can you appeal, or ask for a suspension, of a bylaw from a parliamentary procedure standpoint?

There is no procedure in RONR to “appeal” a rule in the bylaws.

Rules in the bylaws may not be suspended unless they are in the nature of a rule of order or if the rule provides for its suspension.

Guest Plantfoam may have meant "repeal."

A bylaw may be repealed, by the method prescribed in the bylaw for amending the bylaws.

Hello Everyone,

Here is the scenario:

Let me know if you need more information.

Yes, we need more information.

What does the rule in the bylaws say?    Rules in the bylaws cannot be "appealed", because if properly adopted, rules in the bylaws are correct by definition.  And they usually can't be suspended, but there are exceptions.

So tell us what this rule says, and who the "entity" is that is objecting to the use of the rule, and upon what grounds?
