Rob Elsman Posted March 18, 2020 at 01:39 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2020 at 01:39 AM He would apply the special rules of order that are supposed to be adopted to meet the needs of meetings being conducted by way of electronic media. Joshua Katz Posted March 18, 2020 at 01:41 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2020 at 01:41 AM What do your rules say about electronic meetings, if anything? A few years ago, I was on a committee charged with drafting rules for electronic meetings. We found software with built-in functions suitable for this - it had multiple "statuses" that could be used to request the floor, request the floor for a privileged motion, etc.
Jayadev Posted March 18, 2020 at 01:47 AM Author Report Share Posted March 18, 2020 at 01:47 AM Our rules does not say about electronic meetings, but it does say trustees can attend meetings through phone, and also president can take approval of all trustees through emails if there is an urgent matter but does not say about a meeting where all trustees are on the phone and how to recognize any one who wants to be recognized Thnaks
Joshua Katz Posted March 18, 2020 at 03:25 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2020 at 03:25 AM If your rules say nothing about electronic meetings, then you are not authorized to hold them (unless there's some applicable law giving you authority). Can you give us the exact text of the provision on attending through phone? In any event, if you're not authorized to hold electronic meetings, it seems to me that recognition is a moot point.
