Rob Elsman Posted October 8, 2010 at 03:30 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2010 at 03:30 PM Is it proper to post the minutes of your meeting if they have not formally been approved? No rule in RONR prohibits the distribution of minutes to members (by posting, mailing, etc.) in advance of the meeting at which they will be approved. George Mervosh Posted October 8, 2010 at 03:35 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2010 at 03:35 PM It would be a good idea to clearly mark each page as "unapproved" or "draft", so that it's clear they are not the approved version.
Guest Sharon Posted October 8, 2010 at 04:05 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2010 at 04:05 PM we are a small (50 members) casual social group with a turnover of volunteers annually, so continuity/understanding is a challenge to maintain...............is it "legal" to have the President, VP, Parliamentarian review and make initial corrections to the Secretary's minutes within a day or two following Board meetings?..............we of course still maintain process of final corrections/approval at Board meetings........ our Board meetings are frequently months apart and people have lost clear memory so we lose accuracy if we don't review and make initial corrections to the minutes right away......... The full board can always make corrections to approved minutes later (RONR, p. 293ff) but they won't need to go through the approval process itself.
