Guest HFORD Posted April 11, 2011 at 04:21 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 04:21 PM Regular monthly meeting. One BOD member late but noted as present with others. Late BOD wants minutes to reflect in minutes beside Motions "did not vote due to coming in after the discussion" on several Motions carried early in the meeting. Is this proper? Robert B Fish Posted April 11, 2011 at 04:51 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 04:51 PM The tardy member could request unanimous consent that the minutes reflect the point at which he/she arrived. The board could grand (or decline to grant) the request. We assume that his presence did not affect whether a quorum was present.BTW, in order to vote, he need only be present for the vote, even if he missed the entire debate.-Bob
Guest HFORD Posted April 11, 2011 at 08:13 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 08:13 PM Same member now wants the minutes to reflect how she voted on each motion. We did not have any roll call votes.

We did not have any roll call votes. If you all want to grant her request then go for it. If you all don't then refuse the request. Majority rules. Gary Novosielski Posted April 11, 2011 at 10:57 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 10:57 PM Same member now wants the minutes to reflect how she voted on each motion. We did not have any roll call votes. That is not at all appropriate, but if a majority votes to allow it, it can be done. I'd vote No.
Rob Elsman Posted April 11, 2011 at 11:00 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2011 at 11:00 PM Same member now wants the minutes to reflect how she voted on each motion. We did not have any roll call votes.A request to enter an individual member's vote on the minutes is dilatory and out of order. The minutes are the journal of the assembly's proceedings, not the personal journal of an individual member.

Thomas Ralph Posted April 13, 2011 at 03:42 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2011 at 03:42 PM None of these are appropriate things to be entering in the minutes.
