George Mervosh Posted September 13, 2011 at 07:41 PM Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 at 07:41 PM I guess Barbara didn't like the answers given over in the Advance Discussion Board?
g40 Posted September 13, 2011 at 07:46 PM Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 at 07:46 PM How are board members normally chosen? If the membership normally elects board members, and the deadlock continues, perhaps the positoon might remain vacant until the members elect someone to fill the position. Guest Guest Posted September 13, 2011 at 09:20 PM Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 at 09:20 PM It's not that I didn't like any answers.....but our board meeting is due to happen Thursday at 9 am and I'm getting desperate for an answer from anywhere! I thought maybe by putting the question only on the advanced board it wouldn't get seen as much as by putting it on the general board.Board members are regularly voted on at the annual meeting. This is a vacant position due to a resignation, so the person filling it will just fill out that term. And yes, we know that the vote will be a split vote. From what I've seen, the answer seems to be in requiring a re-vote until someone caves. This is a contentious vote, so that's going to be difficult. Weldon Merritt Posted September 13, 2011 at 09:37 PM Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 at 09:37 PM This is a contentious vote, so that's going to be difficult.Difficult is not the same as impossible. Yours will not be the first organization to have the problem. Others have gotten through it; you will, too.
David A Foulkes Posted September 13, 2011 at 11:22 PM Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 at 11:22 PM Board members are regularly voted on at the annual meeting. When you say annual meeting, do you mean of the membership or of the Board?
Sean Hunt Posted September 14, 2011 at 05:56 AM Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 at 05:56 AM I second the suggestion of a vote by ballot. With the secrecy, someone will likely eventually break ranks because they are bored.
J. J. Posted September 14, 2011 at 04:10 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 at 04:10 PM Eventually, someone will have to go to the bathroom.
Guest Guest Posted September 14, 2011 at 04:48 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 at 04:48 PM Our annual meeting is held in July and that is for all members of the association. This will be the regular monthly board meeting and only the Bd of Dir will vote to fill this vacancy.
g40 Posted September 14, 2011 at 06:03 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 at 06:03 PM Although there are differences, of course, when the College of Cardinals are deadlocked in selecting a new Pope, after a certain number of ballots, the food begins to be restricted. That turns out to be a "motivation" to reach agreement.
