Gary Novosielski Posted January 7, 2013 at 03:46 PM Report Share Posted January 7, 2013 at 03:46 PM As long as she's not still angry. Are you sure?I would think that if she resigned in anger, she'd have to run for reëlection in anger. Just for symmetry. But on second thought, that might require the voters to vote for her in anger.... Never mind.

Is she eligible to do so?Office holding limitations are properly found in the bylaws. An example is shown in RONR. RONR (11th ed.), p. 585, ll. 32-35. Rev Ed Posted January 7, 2013 at 09:42 PM Report Share Posted January 7, 2013 at 09:42 PM Was the resignation even accepted? If not, she is still serving in the other office.
sMargaret Posted January 8, 2013 at 03:35 PM Report Share Posted January 8, 2013 at 03:35 PM A board member of our dog breed club resigned out of anger. She now wants to run for elected office. Is she eligible to do so?She wouldn't be if, for example, your bylaws state that board members who resigned, for whatever reason, are not eligible for office. RONR does not have anything pertaining a resignation disqualifying someone from being able to run for office, whether in anger or not.
