Guest TNJohnson Posted November 4, 2019 at 07:28 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2019 at 07:28 PM If a training is listed on the Agenda prior to the Call to Order, can this be listed as FYI in the minutes and should the original agenda including the training listed be attached to the minutes because it was the one handed out at the meeting or should a new agenda be done for the minutes removing the training? Hieu H. Huynh Posted November 4, 2019 at 09:04 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2019 at 09:04 PM I would leave out the agenda from the minutes.
Atul Kapur Posted November 5, 2019 at 01:17 AM Report Share Posted November 5, 2019 at 01:17 AM The minutes are the record of what happened at the meeting, not before or after. Also, I agree with Mr. Huynh's reply above.

It is? Do you have a citation? It seems to me like adopting an agenda is rather like approving a contract. The fact that a motion was made and adopted to approve the contract is entered in the minutes, but the contract itself is not included in the minutes unless the assembly directs that it be included. The contract itself, or a copy of it, should be retained by the secretary in his records, but not necessarily in the minutes.

No chapter and verse, but a agenda is a motion, that can be amended first, which gets adopted, (p. 372) hence it goes in the minutes, like all motions. I know of no list of "motions that do not go in minutes" in the book. Should there be one?
