Edgar Guest Posted July 8, 2015 at 03:01 PM Report Share Posted July 8, 2015 at 03:01 PM Yes. Any deliberative assembly (e.g. the executive committee, the board, the general membership) can meet in executive session if it chooses to do so. See pp.95-96. Rev Ed Posted July 9, 2015 at 04:24 PM Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 at 04:24 PM And the group can hold an entire meeting in Executive Session, or only part of it - and even go into and out of Executive session multiple times within a meeting. RONR allows for this. The only exception to Executive Session would be a Sunshine Law covering the organization - and only a lawyer could assist there. Though I would avoid capitalizing "executive session". It's already easy enough to confuse it with a meeting of an Executive Committee or an Executive Board (or, perish the thought, "the Executives").
