  1. Maybe. But unless their rules are very specific on this point, I would guess that from a procedural perspective they are actually doing what Zev suggests: To me it just doesn't seem possible that under the rules in RONR there could be a continuation of the same board meeting or session after a periodic change in board membership has occurred.
  2. I would suggest logging out, clearing this site's cookies from your web browser, closing the browser tab, and also emptying your browser cache. (I doubt that restarting the computer should have any effect.) Then try posting something new and see if you can edit the new post.
  3. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice that. Unfortunately, the developers did it on purpose, claiming that this feature can slow the servers too much.
  4. I just updated the forum software. (Actually, it updated itself; I just clicked a few buttons.) Let's see if that helps.
  5. The forum software was updated a few minutes ago. Please report any new problems here.
  6. I'm not convinced that a new board can be installed during the same session as the current board, let alone during the same meeting.
  7. Maybe the system wants you to become a member instead of just being a guest.
  8. No, it's not in there. Furthermore, much of the content of the page is blatantly a violation of copyright held by the Robert's Rules Association.
  9. That still doesn't mean they need a regular chair, just a chairman pro temperance. (And they should get rid of the vice chairman, who isn't helping the matter.)
  10. I suppose the members could stay on their feet, especially if it's a standing committee.
  11. How quickly we forget. :-) https://robertsrules.forumflash.com/topic/30732-forum-software-update/?do=findComment&comment=179047
  12. "Rescind" is certainly not applicable, but there used to be a motion called "Discharge an order of the day before it is pending," requiring a two-thirds vote for adoption. Seems like it might come in handy in this situation. ๐Ÿ™‚
  13. Excellent point; I hadn't thought of that.
  14. When a nonexistent president starts to make executive decisions unilaterally impacting the Chapter, then they has real problems.
  15. I can't tell if you art being serious, but that is a ridiculous suggestion.
  16. That is incorrect. The default rule is that the president is not automatically a member of any committees. But if the bylaws make the president an ex-officio member of all committees, and there is no exception stated for the nominating committee, then he or she would be a member of that committee as well.
